The Rate of Return shows the amount of profit that your investments in a Fund earn over a defined period, calculated as a percentage of the money that you originally invested.

The Rate of Return percentage shown for the Fund(s) is calculated based on the gain or loss, after fees or sales charges, divided by the current value.

This rate is affected by the contributions (buys / switches in / transfers in / dividend distribution reinvestments, and long and short term capital gain reinvestments) or withdrawals (sales / switches out / transfers out) you make in your portfolio for the selected Fund(s). Contributions will lead to understated figures and withdrawals to overstated figures.

If you place subsequent contributions in your portfolio for the selected Fund(s) since your initial investment, it will have effectively diluted the return you see from the return your investments have generated.

The entire calculation is based on values in the currency of the Fund(s) and your preferred currency is not considered in the calculation of the Rate of Return.

The Fund(s) must have a beginning and ending balance for the time period selected to calculate a Rate of Return or it will display a “-”.

The Rate of Return will not be shown for the Fund(s) launched within the last 12 months.

The Rate of Return is calculated on the last business day of the prior week.

If you sell all of your investments in the Fund(s) before the last business day of the week, we will use the value on the date of sale to calculate the final Rate of Return.

The Rate of Return is calculated on the last business day of the prior week whereas the market value is calculated every business day.

The As of Date is the date when the Rate of Return is calculated.

For example: if the As-Of date is 01-Sep-2019, your 1 Year return would include performance starting on 01-Sep-2018.

Our Rate of Return calculations only go back to 01-Jan-2008 due to technical constraints we do not have Rate of Return calculations available prior to this date.

If you opened your portfolio prior to this date then your Rate of Return will be calculated as at 01-Jan-2008. If you opened your portfolio after that date, we calculate the Rate of Return from the date you placed your initial contribution into the Fund(s) (buys / switches in / transfers in / dividend distribution reinvestments, and long and short term capital gain reinvestments).

If you fully sell your investment(s) in the Fund(s) and reopen it with a new contribution, we will calculate the Rate of Return from the new contribution date.

We believe it gives a better representation of the Fund(s) Rate of Return on a yearly basis, as it shows an average of investment returns.

This is 1st of January of the current year up to the last Rate of Return date available (the last business day of the prior week) in MyFunds.

The Rate of Return is calculated as of the last business day of the prior week for 1 year back, 3 years back and 5 years back.
